Woodblock Prints
and Retired Woodblocks

My method of printmaking is basic; I print from a single block of wood, with a single ink color. I then hand color each print, using opaque watercolor, ink, oil or chalk pastels, or pencil. Each print is unique. I do not use a press. I do not print in editions, as my intention is to produce variety rather than exact duplication.

Rather than destroy my wood blocks as I retire them from printing, I make then into wall pieces. I color them with acrylic or oil, metallic ink, chalk or oil pastel, or sand them back to wood grain, and then apply varnish.
